The 191st Birth Anniversary of Thakur Sri Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa Dev was celebrated at Ramakrishna Kutir on Thrusday, 19th February, 2025. The day started with Mangal Arati at 6:00 AM followed by Puja at 8:00 AM, Homa at 10:00 AM and Bhogarati & Pushpanjali at 11:30 AM. Bhajans were sung by Swami Harishwarananada. A Bhandara was organised on the occasion in which more than 320 devotees, students, volunteers & workers were fed the noon prasad. Students from the Govt. Hotel Management Institute, Soban Singh Jeena University, Sishu Sadan & Nari Niketan joined the celebrations.

Mahashivaratri was celebrated at Ramakrishna Kutir on Sunday, 15th February, 2026. The Puja started after Sandhya Arati at 7:30 PM. Bhogarati, Bathing of Baneshwara Shiva Lingam & Pushpanjali were also conducted. The Puja got over by 09.30 PM Bhajans were sung by Br. Arpan & a student. Around 20 devotees, students & workers were fed the night prasad.

Kali Puja was celebrated at Ramakrishna Kutir, Almora on 20/10/25. Puja began after the Sandhya Arati at 7.00 PM. Puja was done by Swami Nityavidanana (Somath Maharaj). It was followed by Pushpanjali & Bhog-Arati. Devotional Songs were sung by Swami Harishwarananda (Gobind Maharaj).


​Firecrackers were also burst by the devotees, students, volunteers & staff to everyone's merriment.

Night prasad was served to around 60 people.

The worship of Sri Sri Ma Durga (in portrait) was conducted over all three days of Durga Puja—Maha-Saptami, Maha-Ashtami, and Maha-Navami—at Ramakrishna Kutir, Almora. Homa ceremonies were performed on both Maha-Ashtami and Maha-Navami. Swami Nityavidananda (Somnath Maharaj) served as the Pujari. The Chandi Path was recited on all three days by Swami Sahadevanandji (Subhash Mj) Ramakrishna Mission Haridwar.


Each day of the Puja began with Mangal Arati at 6 AM. Bhog Arati and Pushpanjali were also observed daily.

In the evenings, following the Sandhya Arati, devotees and monks sang bhajans, including the chorus recital of the Mahishasuramardini Stotram. This was followed by the serving of the Ratri Bhog.


Over 500 devotees, students, and workers were served meals at both noon and night throughout all three days of the Puja.

VIVEKANANDA INTER-SCHOOL COMPETITION


The annual Vivekananda Inter-School Competition was held for schools in Almora town. This year, around 3500 students from 39 schools participated in a two-round format:

  • First round: Held at respective schools from 23rd April to 1st May 2025
  • Second round: Conducted at Government Girls’ Inter College, Almora on 4th May 2025
  • The prize distribution ceremony was held on 11th May at the banquet hall of Hotel Milam Inn, in the presence of:
  • Sri Ajay Verma, Mayor of Almora
  • Swami Atmashraddhananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Kanpur
  • Swami Sukhananda, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Bhuj
  • Other monks from various centres in India and Bangladesh
  • Around 50 retreat guests
  • 200 students, parents and teachers & principals

Vibrant cultural performances were performed by the student winners celebrating local and Indian traditions, and the inspiring ideals of Swami Vivekananda.




112 students were awarded for their outstanding performances. Competitions were held in the following categories:

  • Classes 1–4: Art Competition
  • Classes 5–6: Comprehension based on Swami Vivekananda’s life and teachings
  • Classes 7–8: Gita chanting and explanation
  • Classes 9–10: Quiz on Swami Vivekananda, Uttarakhand’s heritage, and Indian culture
  • Classes 11–12: Speech on Swami Vivekananda’s Expectations from the Youth
  • School Level: Short play based on Swami Vivekananda’s life
  • School Level: Cultural presentation based on Indian folk traditions and heritage

Food packets were distributed to all attendees, and refreshments were served to the guests.
