The 40th National Youth Day was celebrated at Ramakrishna Kutir on Friday, 12th January, 2024. Chief Guest Prof. Sri Satpal Singh Bisht, Vice Chancellor, Soban Singh Jeena, University, Almora inaugurated the programme by garlanding Swami Vivekananda's statue. The monastic members present chanted Vedic hymns and offered flowers on Swamiji's feet.
Sriman Mohit Aswal presented a Vivekananda Giti. Other resident Students of the Ashrama- Rajesh Giri, Chanchal Bar & a few other dignitaries such as Dr. JC Durga Pal delivered speeches on various aspects of Swamiji's life and his teachings for the youth.
A girl student- Ms. Pragya Pandey of Sainik School, Ghorakhal recited the 15th chapter of Bhagawad Gita. The Vice Chancellor inspired the students to imbibe Swamiji’s principles in their daily life. About 20 students and 200 others participated in the function and they were refreshed with snacks.
Distribution of Blankets, Sweaters & Ration kits
Total 147 blankets, 35 ration kits & 7 sweaters, 31 woolen caps, 48 Woolen Socks were distributed to the needy peoples of nearby villages of Almora in the Ashrama Premises.
1 Ration Kit contained:
Rice-5kg, Moongh Dal- 10kg, Masoor Dal- 5kg, Aata-5kg,Sugar-1kg, Refined Oil- 1litre, Soya Badi- 1kg, Salt-1kg, Haldi-200gm, Mirch-200 gm, Dhaniya-200gm, Garam Masala-100gm.
